Helping Parents Navigate the School System with Confidence

The IEP process can feel overwhelming and confusing. You want the best for your child, but it’s not always easy to understand school reports, special education laws, or how to make sure your child gets the right services.

That’s where I come in.

As both a licensed pediatric clinician and a former classroom teacher, I bring a unique perspective that bridges home, school, and therapy. I help families feel prepared, confident, and supported every step of the way.

How I Can Help
  • Review evaluations, progress reports, and IEP drafts

  • Translate school jargon into clear, parent-friendly language

  • Identify whether goals and services truly meet your child’s needs

  • Help you prepare questions and talking points for meetings

  • Provide strategies for positive, effective communication with schools

  • Attend IEP meetings alongside you (in person or virtually)

Why Families Work With Me

Families choose to work with me because I understand both the educational system and the therapeutic needs of children. I bring these perspectives together to give parents the knowledge and confidence they need to advocate effectively. My approach is rooted in collaboration rather than conflict, supporting families and schools in working as a team to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

What to Expect
  1. Initial Consultation – We discuss your concerns and review your child’s history.

  2. Document Review & Preparation – I go through reports, evaluations, and proposed IEPs.

  3. Support During Meetings – I attend meetings with you or coach you in advance.

  4. Follow-Up Guidance – Ongoing support to help you navigate next steps.
